It’s summer, which means it is beach season on America’s coastlines. This week’s “Tuesday Tip” is a good one, especially if you love a good beach day, but despise the sticky sand that always leaves with you at the end of the day.

Did you know that baby powder removes stubborn sand with little effort? Simply air dry for a bit after rinsing off in the ocean or shower and vigorously sprinkle the powder onto spots with stubborn sand (feet, legs, even in your or your kiddos hair). Wipe off the excess powder and voila! The sand will come off with the powder! I can assure you it works like magic! Okay, maybe it’s less magic and more the fact that the powder helps absorb moisture from the skin which allows the sand to be removed with ease, but hey, we like to think it is magic.

Baby Powder has always been a beach bag essential for me, just like it was for my mom when we were growing up. We tend to avoid true baby powder, and instead opt for the healthier and safer option of pure cornstarch baby powder. We used to bring a big bottle, then downsized to the smaller bottles that were easier to throw in our beach bag!

I now have graduated to a “Powder Pouch” which comes in a cute and practical carry bag and is easy to refill! I keep one in my beach bag, and one in each of our cars. You can purchase your own Powder Pouch by clicking here.

Although the containers of baby powder have changed throughout the years, the concept is still the same. So next time you are off to a beach vacation, or a day trip to relax and have fun by the shore, leave the sand at the beach by using your new found knowledge of this baby powder trick.
